Ahmad Abdo received his B.Eng., M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Canada. He has been part of Ciena Corp. for more than 17 years where he moved into various R&D roles. He is currently a senior consultant, leading the Sales Engineering organization and focusing on architecting, both Subsea and Terrestrial, IP and Optical networks MOFN solutions for Hyperscalers in EMEA. He is a holder of more than 8 US patents and published more than 40 technical journal/conference papers. His research passion hovers around Coherent digital signal processing, optical line systems and automation.
