Alexandre Vázquez is currently a PHD student in Univesidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) who researchs about integrated and quantum optics applied to physical security. On one hand, he works in quantum cryptography using photonic devices, in particular, in continuous variable quantum key distribution protocols (CV-QKD). On the other hand, physical layer security in diverse types of fibers with classical optics in the context of submarine communications. A combination of these two fields would allow to design an hybrid feasible protocol with quantum and physical layer protection.
