Isobel Yeo, Senior Research Geoscientist, National Oceanography Centre

Isobel Yeo is a senior researcher in volcanology and geohazards at the UK’s National Oceanography Centre, where her research focuses on understanding threats to coastal communities and seafloor infrastructure and application of novel technology to better understand hazards in the ocean. Her PhD was awarded in 2012 by University of Durham, which focused on mid-ocean volcanic processes. She regularly advises policymakers and industry on best practices, and leads current research projects focused on monitoring volcanic hazards and enhancing the resilience of telecommunications networks for small islands in the South Pacific.
