Matthias Stegmaier graduated from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany) in 2013 and received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Münster (Germany) in 2017. In 2017 he joined OFS (now Lightera) where he is currently working as a Senior Development Engineer. His work has centered around the development of next-generation optical fiber, with a focus on submarine-grade transmission fiber.
