Mikael Mazur, Member of Technical Staff, Nokia Bell Labs

Mikael Mazur received his PhD from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden in 2019. At Bell Labs, he develops real-time signal processing techniques for optical transmission and fiber sensing systems. His work puts particular emphasis on developing fiber sensing systems that are compatible with live telecom traffic in order to make fiber sensing an integrated part of the optical communication systems. Currently his main research focuses on extending fiber sensing solutions to cover transoceanic subsea cables to enable new applications in earth and climate sciences. He is an active member of the Joint Task Force on SMART cables as well as the Suboptic working group on Sensing using Operational Subsea Cables.
