Dr Priyanth Mehta is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Priyanth manages the optical engineering team on subsea and terrestrial photonic network performance at Ciena Canada. He holds over 50 academic publications (500+ citations), and several patents in the field of optical telecommunication systems. Prior to joining Ciena, Ottawa, he received his B.Sc. (Hons) (2007) and M.Sc. (Hons) (2009) in Optical Physics from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. He then obtained a PhD in nonlinear fibre optics from the Optoelectronics Research Centre, University of Southampton, UK in 2013.
