Sandra Maximiano, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of ANACOM since 15 December 2023, holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. She is an Associate Professor of Economics at ISEG - Higher Institute of Economics and Management of the University of Lisbon, where she is co-coordinator of XLAB - Laboratory of Behavioral Research and the Master's Degree in Economics. She is also an Invited Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at Purdue University and a Research Fellow at the University of Chicago, in the United States. He also taught at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics and Nova School of Business and Economics. His academic research covers several areas: experimental and behavioral economics, organizational and labor economics, public policy and information management. Her research explores issues related to social and moral preferences in individual decision-making and in strategic and competitive environments, gender differences in economic decisions, and the dynamics of information in competitive and cooperative situations. Sandra Maximiano mainly uses laboratory and field experiments to study human economic behavior and to collect data. His work has been published in journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, Economic Journal, Experimental Economics, and Games and Economic Behavior. She is currently Associate Editor of the "Revista Portuguesa de Economia". Sandra Maximiano is a member of the Fiscal Council, a member of the Advisory Board and a member of the observatories and working groups of SEDES. Between 2020 and 2024, he was Vice-President of the Portuguese Association of Data Science and a member of the ASF Market Conduct Forum. From 2006 to 2023, she was the author of opinion columns in the Portuguese press, highlighting the column "The Economy is us" in the Expresso newspaper.
