Siddharth Varughese obtained his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2015 and in 2020 was awarded a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology for his research on modelling impairments in high-speed optical communication systems and identifying them using machine learning.
Since 2020, he has been with Infinera’s (now Nokia’s) subsea division where he is responsible for developing next generation DSP techniques, modelling subsea cable systems, conducting field trials and seismic sensing.
