Yoshinori Yamamoto received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in electronics, information, and energy engineering from Osaka University, Japan, in 2000 and 2002, respectively. In 2002, he joined Optical Communications Laboratory in Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd., Japan, where he was engaged in R&D of optical fibers including ultralow loss pure-silica core fibers. Since 2018, he is a manager for market development and engineering of optical fibers at Optical Fiber and Cable Division in Sumitomo Electric. Mr. Yamamoto has served as an expert in standards organizations including IEC SC86C from 2015 to 2018 and ITU-T SG15 since 2021.
